How we handle family and student information.

Information we collect

Families may provide parent or guardian contact information, a student name, grade level, tutoring program, general academic support needs, availability, city, ZIP code, portal messages, and payment related account records. Study Buddies may submit tutoring session details and academic progress updates.

We intentionally do not ask families to enter payment card numbers into The Study Buddy Club portal. Card payments are processed by Stripe.

How we use information

We use information to review tutoring requests, match students with Study Buddies, provide tutoring services, track sessions and progress, manage balances and payments, communicate with families and tutors, and operate the secure portal.

Who can access portal information

Parents are limited to records connected to their own family account. Study Buddies are limited to students currently assigned to them. Authorized Study Buddy Club administration can oversee records needed to operate the service.

Service providers

Our current website and portal use service providers including Netlify for website hosting, Supabase for authentication and database services, Stripe for payment processing, and Google Workspace for business email. These providers process information as needed to deliver their respective services.

Student information

Because our services involve children and teenagers, parents and guardians should provide only information reasonably necessary for tutoring. Please do not place unnecessary medical, financial, government identification, or other highly sensitive information in tutoring notes or portal messages.
